Sheet Music Resources

Many of our Corps have great existing libraries of music but if you are looking for more or different music, these resources are great places to explore more options. Click on the title of each section to be taken to that webpage.

Salvation Army Music Pages

SA Music Index

A complete searchable index of almost every piece of music ever published by The Salvation Army. This amazing resource was developed by Dale and Rowan Caffull, Salvationists from the UK, as a way to quickly look for a specific piece within the massive number of pieces published by the Army. It is now run by Salvationist Publishing & Supplies and often includes audio or video samples of a piece, as well as a link to purchase the sheet music.

Hallelujah Choruses

Hallelujah Choruses are a collection of over 280 contemporary and hymn arrangements for brass band, praise bands, and also includes notation for guitars, vocals, and smaller brass ensembles. This is a great resource for any sized congregation. This series is published by the Music & Creative Arts Department from the US Central.

Salvation Army Song Book - Online

This is a complete searchable index of The Salvation Army's Songbook (hymnal). You can search the current songbook, as well as several past songbooks either by number or by text. This is also a great way to quickly see the meter, biblical reference, similar songs, and tunes associated with that text.

The Brass Crest - 2-Part Hymn Series

The Brass Crest is a website dedicated to Salvation Army band news. The creator of this site was a Salvation Army Bandmaster who while serving on a music camp faculty noticed that it was difficult to find 2-Part Hymns so he set out to create his own arrangements. These are free 2-Part Hymns which are provided in various pitches for different instrumentation.

Praise & Worship Charts

Our friends downstairs in the Metro Youth Department have put together a great collection of Praise & Worship charts that are available for free download.

Praise & Worship Horn Parts

Our colleagues in the US Eastern Territories Music Department have compiled a list of horn parts that can be played alongside standard praise band arrangements. This is a great resource if you are looking to add to the sound of your current praise band.

Non-Salvation Army Pages

JW Pepper

JW Pepper is known as one of the industry standards for music publishing. It sells music for schools, churches, and community groups in all sorts of different ensembles (band, orchestra, choir, etc). While sheet music is what they are known for, you can also find different products like band and choir folders, music storage furniture, as well as sound equipment and music software.

Musicnotes.com

Musicnotes.com is an online music distributor. There are many more contemporary pieces to be found on this site, and often those contemporary arrangments can be purchased in various different keys. Search by instrumentation, style, difficulty, and text, purchase your music, and have it instantly downloadable!

EasyChoirMusic.com

This website is dealing with the issue of sheet music copyright in an interesting way. When you have found a piece of music on this site, simply pay once for a license fee, then you can print as many copies of that piece as many times as you would like, for as long as you can. The initial cost of a piece may be slightly higher than other stores, but having an unlimited license to print and copy the music without breaking Copywrite laws is a great incentive.

Free Sheet Music

While this page is run by the LDS Church, there are many great free arrangements that would still be appropriate to use in a Salvation Army setting. Take care when selecting the music, however, to ensure that the music selected aligns with Salvation Army theology and belief.
